Disintegration of Soviet Union not only led to the phenomenal socio-economic changes in the erstwhile USSR, but its aftershocks have rippled across whole East European satellite states also. Likewise, the entire Mongol social milieu underwent a transitional phase. Economic instability and transition to market economy brought with it financial insecurity which led to alcoholism, abuse and abandonment of children.
