This is the sincere venture to present the new Honours Syllabus of the University of Calcutta in Atomic and Nuclear Physics in Concise Manner. In this attempt I have freely consulted all the standard text books without any hesitation.  I am indebted to all these master writers in the subject and express my gratitude to them.  What ihave aimed at is to express the matter in a way which is acceptable to students of all categories avoiding the excess in different topics.

Though primarily written following the degree Honours Syllabus of the university of Kolkatta, The appendices in every chapter will make the volume indispensible to the students of all other universities of West Bengal.
