| This beautifully written and illustrated book is the fourth publication of the Jagdish and Kamla Mittal Museum of Indian Art, whose collection of paintings, drawings and other types of Indian art is of such exceptional quality that it has long commanded the attention of art scholars and connoisseurs. In keeping with the Museum's trustees' mandate to publish catalogues of all categories of its objects, this publication presents the Museum's small•but important holdings of Mughal paintings, drawings, and Islamic calligraphy. Several works are by the greatest masters in each of these art forms. Among Mughal paintings, for example, are outstanding works by 17'-century painters Bishandas, Bichitr, and Payag.
