Children's rights in education need to be seen as inclusive and comprehensive and hence it is important that these be addressed in the context of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Respect for children as human beings means that they are no longer perceived as mere objects of protection but as subjects and bearers of human rights like all human beings.
