NURSI,SAID (OIP),Said Nursi (1876-1960), the most influential Islamic scholar in modern Turkish history, is the inspiration behind the hugely polular Nur movement (Nurculuk). He lived through the radical changes that led to the establishment of a vigorously secular Turkish republic in place of the dismembered Ottoman caliphate.
