About the book:

There are 24 stories dealing mainly with middle class life in small towns. Servants, hawkers, also find a place in these stories which are told in a simple manner.
The stories have been culled from daily life episodes. The debate, the first story deals with a group of people who talk about things that affect them most, in a public place. The next story deals with a girl who is about to elope with her lover and the family's reaction to it. Other stories deal with situations in real life and people's reaction to them.
